Effective 3 October 2026 · HyperCut is made by Hyper Attention

The short version. Your videos are processed on your iPhone and stay in your photo library. We keep an account for you (name, email, plan) so your subscription follows you. The optional AI second look sends the transcript of a take, never the audio or video, to our server and to Google's Gemini API. We don't sell data and we don't run advertising trackers.

1. Who we are

HyperCut is an iPhone app made by Hyper Attention ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@hyperattention.ai. This policy covers the HyperCut app and the website usehypercut.com.

2. Your videos

When you record or import a take, HyperCut transcribes it and finds the cuts on your device, using Apple's on-device speech recognition and our own analysis. The video, its audio and its transcript are stored on your phone, inside the app and in your photo library when you export. We do not receive them.

Two optional features involve a server:

3. Your account

You sign in with Apple, Google or an email address and password. We store the identifier the provider gives us, your email address, your name if the provider shares it, and the display name you choose. Authentication is handled by Supabase on our behalf.

With your account we also keep the records needed to run the service: your plan, how many cuts you have used this month, and a device token if you allow notifications so we can tell you when a cut is ready.

4. Purchases

Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check which plan is active for your account. We receive the subscription status and an anonymised transaction identifier, not your payment information.

5. Usage statistics

To improve the cutting rules we keep de-identified statistics about cuts: how long a take was, how much was removed, which kinds of cuts were made. These numbers are not linked to your identity and they do not contain your words, audio or video.

8. Where data is stored and for how long

Account and usage records are stored in the United States. They are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account, or by emailing us), we delete your personal data within 30 days; the de-identified cut statistics described in section 5 are kept, as they cannot be linked back to you. Videos you have exported stay in your photo library under your control.

9. Your rights

You can see and change your account details in the app, export your clips at any time, and delete your account yourself. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to access, correct, port or erase your data, or to object to its processing; email us and we will help. If you are in the EU or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Children

HyperCut is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so in the app and update the date at the top of this page.
